Why Does My Dog Sleep With Me And Not My Partner?

Dogs are often thought to be "man's best friend," but it turns out that they also have a great friendship with their owners. The study showed that dogs were sleeping with their owners  and even better, they were getting some shut-eye while they did so.

The researchers found that when humans and dogs slept together, the pets not only slept more deeply but also had lower cortisol levels in their saliva. Cortisol is a hormone released in response to stress, so the lower levels suggest that the dogs felt calmer and more relaxed in their owner's presence.

The study was published in the journal Frontiers in Zoology on Thursday. The researchers say that this research could help us better understand how our interactions with other species affect us emotionally.
