Bacillus Coagulans

What is Bacillus coagulans?

Bacillus coagulans is a species of beneficial bacteria, or probiotics. As defined by the World Health Organization (WHO), probiotics are live microorganisms, which, when administered in adequate amounts, confer a health benefit on the host1.

What is Bacillus Coagulans used for?

As the main ingredient in our Sprinks Regul8 formula, the major role of Bacillus Coagulans is to maintain a healthy intestinal tract in dogs.

How does Bacillus Coagulans work?

Bacillus Coagulans is a spore-forming bacteria. Spore-forming bacteria need to have certain conditions within the body’s intestinal tract met before they are able to grow and multiply. Once these spore-forming bacteria meet the right temperature and moisture, they begin to grow and colonize-two critical factors for any probiotic bacteria1.

What sets apart the Bacillus Coagulans in Regul8 from other probiotics for dogs?

Our BC30 probiotic stands apart from other probiotic supplements because it is surrounded by a natural protective shield, allowing the healthy bacteria to survive the heat and pressure of manufacturing, as well as the acids in your dog’s stomach. This ensures that the healthy bacteria arrive alive in the intestines.

Is it safe?

BC30 Bacillus Coagulans has shown to be safe as a digestive aid in both humans and animals.  It is approved by AAFCO (American Feed Control Officials) as a food additive.  Tests show that BC30 Bacillus Coagulans do not mutate genetic material (mutagenic), break or harm chromosomes (clastogenic), or disrupt genetic material (genotoxic).  The NASC scientific advisory ingredient risk assessment places Bacillus Coagulans as a category B ingredient, which is the category for supplements expected to have minimal risk (the safest category for supplement ingredients).
